Yaiba Kurogane is a young boy who dreams of being the world’s greatest samurai. He spends his days in the jungle training with his father, Kenjuro. Following a bizarre incident, Yaiba returns to Japan. He goes to live with his father’s friend, Mine, and attends the same middle school as his daughter, Sayaka. It’s at the middle school that he meets talented swordsman Takeshi Onimaru.
The pair duel but eventually recognize each other as rivals and begin competing to hone their skills.
One day, Onimaru picks up the cursed Wind God Sword which had lain dormant in his home and, overcome by its power, is transformed into a demon. In order to resist Onimaru who is obsessed with world domination after acquiring the strongest demonic powers, Yaiba obtains the Thunder God Sword.
While on a journey to acquire the legendary orbs scattered all over Japan in the hope of overthrowing Onimaru, Yaiba meets a series of worthy rivals and a fierce battle unfolds…
