“Ueki no Sato” inherits 400 years of Nagasaki technology

“Ueki no Sato” has a history of about 400 years, dating back to the early Edo period.
It is said to be the oldest producer of garden trees in Kyushu, and is one of the Japanese gardens that represent Nagasaki.

Confucius Shrine (Koshi-byo) is the only Chinese-style mausoleum in Japan. Henmen-Show, which is a traditional Chinese face-changing performance that is held during particular events, is very popular among both locals and tourists. Sofuku-ji is a famous temple in Nagasaki, with its gate and main hall being designated as national treasures.

A symbol of Matsuyama City, Matsuyama Castle is set atop of Mr. Katsutama, the city center, the castle has commanding views of the surrounding area and Inland Sea. Built in the early 1600s, it has unique structures that are designated as important cultural properties, and is one of twelve “original castles”, that is castles that have survived since the end of the feudal period in 1868.
Today, 200 cherry trees on the castle grounds make it one of the best spots in the country to enjoy cherry blossoms in the spring.
