Its popularity has spread from Japan to America, Europe, and Asia, with Kendama competitions hosted all over the globe. Watch performances from foreign players who outshine even Japanese players. The Kendama World Cup has been hosted yearly in Hatsukaichi City in Hiroshima Prefecture since 2014. It offers its audience the opportunity to witness the clash of superior techniques from the world's top players. In a special show in 2019, a famous teen actor, Fuku Suzuki explained the excitement of the competition. With Hatsukaichi City as its headquarters, the Kendama Movement aims to reach even more audiences.

The “31 Legged Race” is an ultimate team sports event where 30 elementary school children run literally together in a row for 50 meters with their legs tied together.
The race has become a nationwide event providing fun and entertainment for both the participants and the viewers. This race requires much practice, diligence, and most of all team spirit: working together, focusing on creating a unified rhythm, and placing the team in front of yourself.
The rules are simple. A group of 30 kids from the same elementary school form one team and connect their legs by using specially designed ankle straps. This creates 29 tied legs, with two free legs on each end, therefore creating the “31 Legged Race.” Each team must run 50 meters in a wide open space. The goal tape is backed with a giant safety cushion so the kids can make a dive for their fastest time.
A simple and highly relatable format that will surely make your kids want to participate!

The Miyajima International Power Triathlon cuts a 77.5 kilometer course through Hatsukaichi City, and is to be completed by swimming, biking, and running. All participants, each with their own personal goals, have their eyes fixed firmly on the finish line.
