Station soba shops, dubbed “ekisoba”, have become all the rage among railroad fans. While these establishments have been cherished in Japan for years, they have begun fusing with local cultures to create regional, signature “bowls”. This program features train-loving celebrities guiding viewers on a culinary adventure of “ekimen” (station noodles) such as soba, udon, and ramen served at various railway stops nationwide.
This program conveyed the attraction and depth of fermented foods.
The cast includes actors Toshiki Tateishi and Eito Konishi.
In addition to enjoying the taste sensations brought about by fermentation, the two will also have the opportunity to experience the preparation process and talk with local people about the ingenuity and wisdom behind their food products.

The long-established sake brewery in Higashi-Hiroshima, led by Miho Imada, a female toji (master brewer) who was selected as one of “The BBC’s 100 Women of 2020”, is no exception. Shaved Ice Road - Revitalizing the town with the gift from the earth
This is an annual project held in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture, to revitalize the town using shaved ice made from the famous local water.
The people involved in the event are introduced along with the beautiful and rich nature and its blessings.
The Nukata area stretches across the mountains in the eastern part of Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture.
In recent years, the area has been facing problems such as a declining population and an aging society, so the "Shaved Ice Project" was initiated by members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and has been held since 2018.
Nukata is blessed with "Shinsui" (divine water) and "Sensui" (sacred water), both of which are famous for their pleasant taste, and the shaved ice made with local ingredients has been very popular.
The program depicts in 8K ultra high-definition how the town revitalization born from the "Shaved Ice Road" is spreading, involving people outside the local community.

Udo-chan travels around Mino city in Gifu prefecture with a popular Japanese actor, Koji Yamamoto, and a former member of AKB48, Kayo Noro. They take a train on Nagara-gawa line and walk around wherever they wish.
Mino city is famous for some traditional craft; one of them is edged tools like “Katana” sword. At first, they visit a cutlery museum and try blade shaping there. After having lunch at a café they found on the way to a station, they go to a famous place –a group of traditional buildings preserved for over 400 years. In the Edo era, there was a unique construction style of roofs called “Udatsu.” They visit a sake-factory and a museum for lanterns made by “Washi” paper which is originally manufactured in Mino city. Then they visit a 1300-year-old shrine and find a strange sign on the map which marks a tree named “What tree?”

A heartwarming documentary to show how people connect the hearts between rural and urban.
Tokachi, eastern Hokkaido, is known as Japan’s largest farming area producing wealthy agricultural, dairy, and husbandry items. In this decade, farmers in Tokachi have been hosting more than 20,000 high school students from all over Japan. Students stay a few days to challenge dairy and husbandry works. This “farm-stay” project has nurtured the connection of people’s hearts, and brought urban residents chances to admit the possibilities that rural holds. Young urban fellows spend a few days at farms, start having relation with rural, then they recognize Hokkaido as their second homes.
The program shows how they are impressed by the rural life, as well as what they do to contribute to Hokkaido when they grow up. Viewers will also be amazed by the fascinating pictures and sceneries of Hokkaido.
守れ!うちの天然たい焼き
Have you heard of a Japanese dessert, Taiyaki?
Taiyaki (literally "grilled sea bream" - seabream is supposed to bring happiness), is a small waffle-like cake filled with a sweet red bean paste. It is said that there are “wild” Taiyaki and “farmed” Taiyaki. When making regular Taiyaki, the pan used can make 5+ Taiyaki at a time but few Taiyaki shops make its Taiyaki piece by piece and that is the reason Japanese call it not farmed but wild.
Wild Taiyaki are said to be ‘endangered species’ nowadays. It requires a lot of work and needs techniques, therefore, there are only 130 shops for now in Japan and it’s decreasing.
In this program, we focus on people who try to preserve the wild Taiyaki culture.

It introduces Tea Museum, Shizuoka, which is a green tea-themed facility which Shizuoka Prefecture newly opened in Shimada city in March 2018.
It also goes behind the scenes of what tea-making wholesalers do such as blending, preserving and drying. A certified green tea appraiser displays his surprising skills of a true pro by guessing varieties of leaves from different locations just smelling leaves. It focuses on fancy cafes that promote green tea through unique concepts.

This is an amazing food documentary to show thousand-year history of soup stock. The soup stock is the fundamental essence in Japanese dishes, and kombuor sea kelp, harvested in the northern sea of Hokkaido is known as the best ingredient for the stock. Now a days, the sea kelp is used not only for Japanese traditional cuisines but also western cuisines and even for chocolate.
Through this program, we introduce the reason why northern sea of Hokkaido grows good quality kelp. Then we show how the kelp has been distributed long time ago from Hokkaido to all over Japan and East Asia across the sea. Today, the green tea industry in Japan is facing extreme difficulties. The price of tea remains low, tea farmers are aging and it’s hard to find successors. This program introduces tea farmers working to revitalize Shizuoka’s tea industry.
First, it features tea farmers in the Osawa area who open their houses as porch cafés. They prepare homemade snacks to go along with the tea brewed in a teapot. Next, it focuses on the Tsuchiya Tea Farm which has won a Minister’s Award twice in the past. Tea for the show is grown in a special way by using the Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System method. By entering the show, the reputation of its tea will improve and lead to more customers. Then, it shows a fancy café where people can experience how to make tea. The workers teach their guests how to brew tea and then after, they try it themselves. After that, it follows tea producers who develop a new product. They develop Wakocha, a Japanese black tea to expand their market. Finally, it highlights a young tea maker whose factory makes tencha. Tencha is used for matcha, a powdered green tea. Recently, matcha has become very popular overseas as it is mainly used for sweets. He sees this as a new business opportunity and expands sales channels abroad.
