To whom does this "life" belong?
Riki Oishi is a hospital receptionist with a dilemma. A colleague tells her she can earn good money by donating her eggs at an agency for reproductive medicine. Riki is still conflicted as she visits Plante, but once there, is tapped to become a surrogate. Kusaoke Motoi, a former top ballet dancer, and his wife Yuko are looking for a "surrogate mother" who can give birth to their biological child. They are willing to pay handsomely. For Riki it is only supposed to be an economic choice, but things quickly start to strain. Motoi wants so much to pass on his genes, while Yuko is more afraid of losing his love for being unable to conceive. Soon, everyone is forced to face their innermost desire.
