The groundbreaking new talent competition show SONG vs DANCE(premiered March 28, 2025), co-produced by TV Asahi and U.S.-based production company Smart Dog Media, has won the Bronze Award in the Best Variety Programmecategory at the ContentAsia Awards held in Taipei, Taiwan in September 2025.
Organized by Asia’s leading media industry publication ContentAsia, the awards honor outstanding programs produced across the region. SONG vs DANCE was praised for its innovative format and high entertainment value, earning this prestigious recognition.
In addition, the program has been nominated for Asia’s largest television honors — the Asian Television Awards as well as the Asian Academy Creative Awards, both to be held in Singapore. The winners of the Asian Television Awards will be announced in late November, while the results of the Asian Academy Creative Awards will be revealed in early December.
Bringing together two of the biggest forms of artistic performance – singing and dancing – into a thrilling head-to-head showdown, SONG vs DANCE sets a new benchmark in competition television. The program is executive produced by Emmy Award-winning Craig Plestis and Clara Plestis of Smart Dog Media, alongside TV Asahi’s Takaaki Kitano. This marks TV Asahi’s first co-production with U.S. production company, signaling a bold step forward in global entertainment collaboration.
