Ebiko, a 25-year-old working in the public relations department of a clothing manufacturer, is an ordinary young woman. She sees herself as a “small shrimp who can never become a sea bream” and, despite harboring the ideal of wanting to date a “high-spec man,” she drifts through her days without much direction.
One day, she is dumped by her “safe but unremarkable boyfriend.” Having never experienced a serious relationship and having led a passive life, Ebiko decides to take the breakup as an opportunity to pursue a “serious romance.” She begins to take action, thinking, “Maybe even a small shrimp like me can catch a high-spec sea bream man!”
Through meeting four men of different types, falling in love, and experiencing breakups, Ebiko updates her values and grows as a person. No matter who she chooses, there will be a different future. Who is the true “taimen” for her?
