以「推動世界的是真實！」作為自身信念的進藤壯一，在公共傳媒社會部擔任記者累積了15年的經驗並擔任新聞節目主播。然而，他被民放電視台JBN會長挖角，成為長年收視率低迷的新聞節目主要主播。
以糾正鬆散的報導體制為使命的進藤，為了「傳遞真相」不擇手段，按照自身的規則進行採訪與調查，完全無視現有規範。
這是一部描寫有著壓倒性的存在感，並將周圍的人也捲入其中、打破常規又異於常人的男人，追求被黑暗掩埋的真實並制裁邪惡的社會派娛樂作品。
