Sakura Katsuragi is an aspiring gravure idol who dreams of gracing magazine covers. One day, while being stalked, Sakura is rescued by Shinobu Sumida, a once-hopeful film director whose dreams have been shattered. As a fan of Sakura, Shinobu soon realizes that Sakura has her own struggles.
Sakura entered the entertainment industry as a gravure idol with the hope of inspiring others, motivated by her past experiences with bullying. However, the talent agency she joined turned out to be corrupt. She wasn't gaining any popularity, and her part-time work was restricted by the agency, leaving her living in poverty.
