Haru Takasugi is a single man, who’s devoted to his geography research but struggling to make ends meet. His life takes an unexpected turn when he becomes the legal guardian of Kururi, a shy middle school girl who has recently lost her mother. As Haru tries to step into the role of guardian, he finds himself constantly fumbling while caring for Kururi’s needs.
One day, Kururi surprises Haru with a homemade obento lunch that grabs the attention of everyone in his research lab. This special dish, taught to her by her mother, brings back fond memories for Haru as well, reminding him of his aunt’s cooking.
Although the clumsy Haru and the frugal Kururi find it difficult to live together at first, they slowly bridge the gap between them through the obentos they cook, discovering the true flavors of family along the way.
