No hobbies, no friends, no lover… No reason to live.
Kouki, a convenience store worker who lives every day out of habit, gets stabbed by a delinquent. When this happens, he sees a beautiful, pure white angel as his consciousness drifts further away. He thought the time had come, but he then finds himself fully healed at home with the angel. The angel's rude attitude bewilders Kouki. However, Kouki decides to let the angel stay at his place for now, taking pity on the angel who has lost both his memories and his wings. The two slowly become like brothers as the angel learns about Kouki's past and his feelings. Then, they learn that the angel was a middle schooler who committed suicide at the same exact time and place as Kouki's stabbing incident, so they decide to find out why the angel chose death.
Learning their past in detail, the two begin to enjoy to the fullest what had been an unfortunate life. The amusement park, traveling, the zoo, and sometimes even pachinko and the hostess bar!
Kouki's kindness helps the angel form beautiful wings so he can fly, and the angel goes on to heaven after imparting one final message to Kouki, the one who has shown him kindness: Thank you.
Suddenly losing his beloved angel, Kouki crumbles. Remembering what the angel gave him, and what he gave to the angel, he is unable to stop crying.
However, the angel left after granting his wish to be loved. Kouki was able to feel, “Life isn't all that bad,” because there were things that were within his power.
He decides to live on until the day he can meet the angel again.
