Kouki, a convenience store worker who lives every day out of habit, gets stabbed by a delinquent. When this happens, he sees a beautiful, pure white angel as his consciousness drifts further away. He thought the time had come, but he then finds himself fully healed at home with the angel. The angel's rude attitude bewilders Kouki. However, Kouki decides to let the angel stay at his place for now, taking pity on the angel who has lost both his memories and his wings. The two slowly become like brothers as the angel learns about Kouki's past and his feelings. Then, they learn that the angel was a middle schooler who committed suicide at the same exact time and place as Kouki's stabbing incident, so they decide to find out why the angel chose death.
Learning their past in detail, the two begin to enjoy to the fullest what had been an unfortunate life. The amusement park, traveling, the zoo, and sometimes even pachinko and the hostess bar!
Kouki's kindness helps the angel form beautiful wings so he can fly, and the angel goes on to heaven after imparting one final message to Kouki, the one who has shown him kindness: Thank you.
Suddenly losing his beloved angel, Kouki crumbles. Remembering what the angel gave him, and what he gave to the angel, he is unable to stop crying.
However, the angel left after granting his wish to be loved. Kouki was able to feel, “Life isn't all that bad,” because there were things that were within his power.
He decides to live on until the day he can meet the angel again.

This heart-warming drama is based on an episode that is currently taking place at an agency that helps to arrange special adoptions (“tokubetsu-yoshiengumi” in Japanese), a system in which the happiness of the children comes first.
Takako Okuda (Shigeru Muroi), the head of “Smile Baby”, a non-profit organization that helps arrange special adoptions, helped Madoka Sakamoto (Alice Hirose) who is homeless and 9 months pregnant. She has been living off of coins she picks up from underneath vending machines, eating instant noodles, and drinking water from public parks. Despite Takako looking out for her, Madoka, needing quick cash, went to Shun Nonogaki (Masato Wada), an agent who uses on-line marketing to solicit expecting mothers with the offer: “we will give you 150,000 yen per month until you give birth if you give the infant up for adoption.”
Madoka soon feels anxious because of what she feels is Nonogaki’s insincere attitude and she petitions to cancel but is threatened that she would have to repay twice the money she had received if she cancelled and is left with nowhere else to go. Takako manages to find the pregnant Madoka, who had disappeared suddenly, and tries to help her keep from having to turn over her baby to Nonogaki…
This situation makes Takako’s adopted daughter, Megumi (Yuuki Yagi) who has become a high school student, begin to think strongly about who gave birth to her and where she came from. This is the second edition of Chukyo TV’s 45th anniversary Drama, Mothers.
After gathering a great deal of information and case studies regarding special adoptions, Chukyo drafted an original script giving extensive coverage to these situations after determining that the gathered material can best be portrayed through drama.
The story for “Mothers 2015 The 17 year-old birth mother” is based on a true story.
Principal character of this drama is Asako, a high-school sophomore. She became pregnant unexpectedly as a result of sexual abuse by her mother’s boyfriend. This abuse has deeply wounded her physically and emotionally in ways that will last her entire life. Betrayed, even by her beloved mother Asako blocked her memory of the abuse and shut her mind in despair. Accompanied by a class teacher, she visited the house called “Smile Baby” run by an NPO that assists pregnant women who cannot raise their babies for various reasons.
Through 3 mothers (the birth mother, the foster mother, and Takako, the head of the NPO who connects the two others through special adoption. The story raises fundamental questions, “What is life?” and “What is motherhood?”

This is the story about a boy who grew up with no idea at all he was an adopted child until he is 19 years old. This story is based on the CTV’s *awarded original documentary program that discloses truth of adoption issues in Japan. “What is a family?” -the story brings about fundamental questions, while telling you realities behind adoption. The shooting was taken place solely in Tokai region. Along with the touching story about the delicate social issue you can feel the local” smell and taste” of Chukyo Area.

Late summer 1972. Truck driver, Yasu, is in the highest spirits singing to himself while working and restraining himself from his favorite hobbies of drinking and gambling. The reason? His wife is about to give birth to a son. Yasu himself never had parents to speak of, his mother having died while he was very young, and his father having abandoned him. Yasu's wife, Misako, also lost both her parents when she was young. And so the two spend their days in happiness, protecting and watching their son, Akira, grow. Until an unforeseen tragedy strikes when Akira is only 3. A freakish accident occurs that results in Misako sacrificing her life to protect her son. Yasu loses himself in grief and remorse, but recovers when he vows to raise the son he loves as best as possible even as it tests the limits of his wits and abilities. Though forced to battle feelings of anxiety, confusion and helplessness, Yasu clumsily yet honestly manages to rear his son with the support of friends in this moving tale of ultimate love between father and son.

Two years have passed since Jin slipped through a time warp and landed in the Edo period at the end of the Tokugawa shogunate’s reign. Worried about the state of depression into which Saki has fallen, Jin pays a visit to her native home when it is revealed that her mother, Ei has been stricken with beriberi disease. Sumio has mild intellectual disability and works at the restaurant, Sezon. He could not communicate with others well, but he is pure like a child. Sumio’s favorite activity is to watch outside by a pair of binocular glasses. What he watches is the Chihiro’s room. Chihiro is his desirable woman and works as a top fashion model. Coincidentally she dates an owner of the restaurant, Sezon. Since Sumio meets Chihiro at her birthday party, their fates cross over.
Chihiro denies Sumio because of his strange activity. However, his pureness passes along Chihiro and she is gradually attracted to him. His kindness and dedication starts to change Chihiro. They come to be drawn to one another. However, their relation is not understandable for others. Will their pure love be fulfilled?
